NJCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week (Feb. 24, 2010)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Dejuan Plummer of Frank  Phillips College (Texas), Appollos Wade of Community College of Rhode Island, and Justin Glover of Davidson County Community College (N.C.) have been named the NJCAA men's basketball Players of the Week for the week ending February 21.

Plummer, a 6'0" guard from Detroit, Mich., is the Division 1 player of the week after helping the Plainsmen to a 1-1 record last week.  In a 100-88 win over New Mexico Military Institute, Plummer scored 34 points on 13-of-21 from the field, 6-of-9 from beyond the arc, 2-of-3 from the line, and also contributed by pulling down four rebounds, dishing out five assists, and grabbing four steals.  Three days later in a tough 67-73 Loss to South Plains College (Texas), the sophomore put in 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, 3-of-8 on three pointers, 2-for-4 from the line, and also had one rebound, three assists, and one steal.  For the week he 27.5 points per game on 57 percent from the field (21-37), 53 percent from downtown (9-17), 57 percent from the foul line (4-7), and also averaged 2.5 rebounds (5), four assists (8), and 2.5 steals (5).









Wade
, 5'10" guard from Taunton, Mass., is the Division 2 player of the week after an outstanding week where he helped the Knight's to three more wins this season.  In a 121-74 rout of UCONN-Avery Point, Wade scored just four points on 2-of-3 from the field.  In this game he was truly a pass first, shoot second player as he dished out 19 assists, with six rebounds, and three steals.  Two days later in an 88-74 win over Dean College (Mass.), the sophomore scored a career high 26 points on 8-of-10 from the field, 4-of-6 from three point land, and a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.  In this game, he also had five rebounds and seven assists.  On Feb. 20, in a 69-58 win over ASA (N.Y.), he scored 14 points on 4-of-7 from the field, 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and again went a perfect 4-for-4 from the line.  Completing the double-double for the game, he dished out 11 assists, had four rebounds and had one steal.  For the week he averaged 14.6 points per contest on 70 percent shooting (14-20), 66 percent from downtown (6-9), 100 percent from the line (10-10), as well as averaging five rebounds per game (15), 15.6 assists (47), and 1.3 steals (4).








Glover
, a 6'2" guard from Siler City, N.C. had a high scoring week for the #5 ranked Storm and is the division 3 player of the week.  On Feb. 15, in a 95-56 win over Piedmont Baptist College (N.C.), Glover scored 30 points on 13-of-21 from the floor, 2-of-3 from beyond the three-point line, and 2-for-2 from the foul line.  He also contributed in the game by pulling down nine boards off the glass, dishing out three assists, and was a menace on defense as he had seven steals and two blocks.  Three days later in a close 94-92 win over Sandhills CC (N.C.), the freshman scored 24 points on 9-of-22 from the field, 2-of-7 from beyond the arc, 4-of-5 from the line, and pulled down 11 rebounds, had one assists, and picked the opponents pocket five times.  The next day in a 119-96 win over Carolina Prep Academy, he dropped 33 points on 13-of-19 from the field, 2-of-5 from three point land, and went 5-for-9 from the line.  In that game he also had six rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block.  For the week he averaged 29 points per game on 56 percent shooting (35-62), 40 percent from downtown (6-15), 69 percent from the line (11-16), and also averaged 8.7 boards (26), three assists (9), five steals (15), and one block (3).
