If a college sponsors both a men's and women's program, they are required to join in both divisions. Membership benefits are received by the college for each division joined.

The NJCAA currently is comprised of approximately 530 two-year institutions participating in 15 men's and 13 women's sports. There are 50 National Championships sponsored throughout the United States for men and women, not to mention 9 football bowl games!

The most important aspect of the NJCAA is that of a service organization--designed and directed to serve the wishes and needs of its membership and to promote athletics at the junior college level.
