Frequently
Asked Questions
About the Coaches Fundraising Program
|
|
Q:
How does the program work?
|
| A:
Each contact will receive a FREE Team Fundraising
Kit which will include step by step instructions
on how to run the fundraiser, sales flyers
and order forms. Team members go out into
the community and sell to friends, family,
neighbors, local businesses, doctors' and
dentists' offices, etc. Each donor makes
a check payable for $20 to the local fundraising
organization for each magazine sold. The
organization will deposit the $20 checks
into their team's account. Once a month,
the team sends the order forms and our $8
portion for each subscription (one lump
sum check) payable to: ESPN The Magazine.
Order forms for the subscriptions must accompany
the check sent to ESPN The Magazine. Do
Not Send Cash! |
|
Q:
How much does each magazine order cost
and how much goes to the team?
|
| A:
Each magazine order sells for just $20.
The team keeps $12. An unprecedented 60%
of the proceeds is kept by the team! |
| Q:
Does the Team/Coach have to handle magazines
or product? |
| A:
No, this program is turn-key. The Coach
sends in the orders with the appropriate
monies to ESPN The Magazine and we take
care of the rest. The magazines will be
mailed directly to the donors. The Team/Coach
does not have to handle any merchandise
or magazines. |
|
Q:
Is there a minimum number of orders to
sell?
|
| A:
No. Sell as few as you want or as many as
you want. |
|
Q:
Are there upfront or hidden costs?
|
| A:
No. We send you a FREE personalized fundraising
kit. |
|
Q:
How fast will the orders take to get started?
|
| A:
Approximately 8-10 weeks after ESPN The
Magazine receives the orders with the correct
payment from the team. |
|
Q:
Can a Coach do this for any sport and
pass it along to any colleagues?
|
| A:
A Coach can definitely run this program
for each and every sport that they coach.
We only ask that the Coach lets us know
if they are running it for multiple sports
or teams so that we may keep accurate records
to better suit the needs of their area supporters.
We welcome and thank any Coach for passing
on this great program to their colleagues.
We request only that a Coach call us and
register for the program to help keep accurate
records to better serve everybody's needs. |
|
Q:
When should a Coach run the program and
is there a time limit?
|
|
A: We've
found that the best time to run the program
is just before the season begins when
anticipation of the coming season is high
and there is time to make the program
successful before the hectic schedule
of the season begins. The program can
be conducted continuously all year long
or over a 3-4 week period. Teams that
run the program year-round send us a package
every 3-4 weeks. It makes a Great Holiday
gift!
|
|
Q:
How does a Coach sign up for this program?
|
|
A: It's simple!
Coaches can register:

Two-year college athletics is not only vast but a very viable market to reach. Consider that:
There are 10.4 million students enrolled in two-year colleges across the nation.
44% of all undergraduates across the country are enrolled in two-year colleges.
45% of all first-year freshmen attend a two-year college.
The average enrollment of two-year colleges is 12,300 students.
Sixty-one percent (61%) of students are 35 years of age or younger.
58% of the students nationwide are women.
More than 70,000 two-year college students transfer annually to universities.
More than 75,000 students each year go directly into occupational jobs.
Eighty-nine percent (89%) of students who complete their studies at a two-year college register a 47% gain in wages after three years.
The number of students enrolled in two-year colleges continues to grow and with the numerous budget cuts occurring at state and national levels, it is expected to keep growing.
Your investment will be placed in the hands of an Association that wants you involved today and well into the future.
