Delgado Starts Well for the Lakers
March 1, 2012

Dariel Delgado (FR, Miami, FL) pitched two shut-out games for Lake Land college on their annual spring trip. Delgado a hard throwing RHP was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2011 amature draft. Hailing from Cuba, Dariel started the season by pitching a complete game on 3 hits versus Shorter in Rome, GA. He struck out 11 and walked 2, while scattering 4 hits. Dariel repeated the shut-out performance against USC Lancaster 4 days later on a 2-hit performance. His season stats after 2 starts are 14 IP, 7 hits, 20 K's, 3 BB's with no runs. The Lakers expect big things for Dariel throughout the 2012 season and beyond.
