WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (OVERALL 4-4, REGION XV 3-2, CONFERENCE 1-2)  The Vikings game at Nassau on Thursday January 2 was postponed due to snow storm Hercules……..SATURDAY JANUARY 3 The Vikings reached the .500 mark with a 52-34 win at Kingsborough.

 MEN'S BASKETBALL (RECORD 12-2, REGION 0-0, CONFERENCE 5-0) FRIDAY DECEMBER 27 The Vikings defeated Gateway CC of New Haven 64-49 in the first round of the CCRI tournament in Rhode Island……… SATURDAY DECEMBER 28 The Vikings defeat host CC Rhode Island in the Championship game of the CCRI Tournament 76-61…….. MONDAY DECEMBER 30 The Vikings concluded a busy holiday period with a home International game against Algoma University of Canada. the Vikings came away with a 82-54 win……..Saturday January 4 The Vikings defeated Kingsborough at Kingsborough 101-81

MEN’S BOWLING   Friday December 27 the Vikings opened up the Keystone Rotogrip Classic at the Playdrome Rose Bowl in Allentown Pa.  Malik Martin (Iona Prep) led the Vikes with a 213………Saturday December 28  The Vikings threw a high 242 Baker Game and finished the Keystone Roto Grip Classic in 36th place……….Sunday December 29  Steven Gallello (Salesian HS) averaged 161 on the tough conditions at AMF Parkway Lanes in Allentown in the Lehigh Valley Classic as the Vikings moved into 34th place…….Monday December 30 The Vikings averaged 150 in the Baker Game block as they passed Mohawk Valley CC to finish in 33rd place in thye Lehigh Valley Classic.  Amongst the teams that Westchester beat were U of Nevada Las Vegas and U of Delaware

SOFTBALL Nicole Angelo (Mahopac HS)_ who batted .282 and hit 4 home runs for the Vikings, last season will be playing for SUNY New Paltz this season. Angelo played Volleyball and Softball for two years with the Vikings

THIS WEEK IN WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE SPORTS MONday NOVEMber 4, 2013 SOCCER (RECORD 5-8, REGION 5-6, CONFERENCE 2-2) Christopher Birnie (Ossining HS), Edison Mejia (Bronx and Douglas McKim (Walter Panas HS) were voted first team All Mid Hudson Conference. VOLLEYBALL (RECORD 10-12, REGION 8-10, CONFERENCE 5-5) Jennifer Peterson (Pleasantville HS) was voted first team All Mid Hudson Conference. Clarice Mayo (Hendrick Hudson HS) was named to the second team....Kristjana Frangaj (RC Ketcham HS) was named to the All Region XV Sportsmanship Team.

VALHALLA NY.  Westchester Community College Freshman Guard Emoni Cropper was named Mid-Hudson Conference Athlete of the week.

Cropper, who is from the Bronx, NY and a graduate of Harry S. Truman High School, scored 21 points and had 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in Westchester’s win over Sullivan in the Mid-Hudson Conference Championship game.  Cropper was named MVP of the Mid-Hudson Conference Tournament. In three games, last week Cropper scored 51 points and had 22 rebounds as Westchester’s win streak reached 25 games

MEN’S BASKETBALL   RECORD (4-9) REGION (0-0) CONFERENCE (2-3) WEDNESDAY JANUARY 9 The Vikings kicked off the new year with a 90-69 home triumph over Community College of Rhode Island……………. Added game to the schedule, The Vikings will host Sacred Heart University's club team on Thursday January 17 at 4:00 thus creating a doubleheader with the women's team's scheduled contest against Queensborough at 6:00

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RECORD (12-3) REGION (7-2) CONFERENCE (2-2)  . TUESDAY JANUARY 8 The Vikings continued their win streak with a 59-40 home win over Borough of Manhattan………THURSDAY JANUARY 10 The Vikings evened their Mid-Hudson Conference record with a 63-45 home win over Dutchess……..SATURDAY JANUARY 12 The Vikings beat Region 19 rival, Passaic, at Passaic 80-65………..Former Viking Jessica Biggs (Paramus Catholic HS), recently transferred from Mercy College to SUNY Purchase. Last week, Biggs was named Skyline Conference player of the week.
