Titans Sweep Rappahannock CC Behind Erker's No-Hitter

The GTCC Titan baseball team improved to 3-1 on the young season as they swept a doubleheader from visiting Rappahannock CC on Saturday. The Titans battled through a blustery cold day and used two dominating pitching performances to overwhelm the Gulls.

Sophomore Dylan Thompson picked up his first win of the season in game one of the double header by tossing a complete game and allowing only 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 4. Sophomore Mike Whited led the Titans at the plate going 3-3 with 2 RBI's en route to a 9-1 victory for GTCC.

Not to be outdone, Titan sophomore lefty Chris Erker tossed the 1st no-hitter in GTCC history as the Titans won 2-0. Ernesto Fernandez had 3 hits and Kyle Brandenburg added 2 more for the Titans, but the story of the game was Erker. Erker dominated from start to finish as he struck out 9 and walked none. Two Titan errors prevented a perfect game for the left hander.

The Titans return to action next weekend as they battle the Community College of Rhode Island in a three game series.
