Weatherford College Raises Money for Jimmy V Foundation

The Weatherford College (Texas) Basketball Booster Club raised more than $1,500 for the Kay Yow Fund, which helps raise money for cancer research through the Jimmy V Foundation. Yow, the longtime women's basketball coach at North Carolina State, died Jan. 24 after a long battle with cancer. Former Weatherford coach and longtime booster Betty Jo Graber knew Yow for many years, having coached with Yow and Pat Summit for Team USA during the 1984 Olympic Games.

"Our coaches and boosters were proud to honor Yow," said Dr. Steven Garippa, Weatherford's Athletic Director. "The Jimmy V Foundation does great work for cancer research, and we join colleges and universities around the country in this effort."
