Ancilla Lady Chargers Connect and Create for Charity

PLYMOUTH, IN – The Ancilla College volleyball team in conjunction with the Sisters from Catherine’s Cottage and the Delta Theta Tau sorority, came together and made blankets for the Plymouth Hospital Obstetrics unit.

Kelly Redinger, a Delta Theta Tau representative and mother of Lady Charger, Amber Redinger, has worked diligently on the blankets and bears projects over the last several months. The Ancilla volleyball team and the Sisters from Catherine’s Cottage have developed a partnership over the years, which is how this unique trio came about. The group continued their tradition of service as they engaged in an evening filled with fellowship, fun, and volunteering for a worthy cause.

Charger coach Lana Singleton reflected, “The volleyball team and the Sisters have formed a special relationship over the last three years and enjoy spending time together. This time, it was to benefit others as well. The ladies made 20 fleece blankets and had a spectacular time doing it!”

“It was a wonderful evening of getting together and making blankets. It gave us the opportunity to re-connect and continue our wonderful intergenerational friendship,” commented Sister Carleen Wrasman, Coordinator of Mission Integration at Ancilla College.

The Lady Chargers continue their good will, as they team up with the Sisters again on Saturday, April 5 for the Ancilla Alumni Volleyball game, where all donations will benefit Riley’s Children’s Hospital.

Ancilla College, part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 18 Associate’s Degree and eight athletic programs. Since 1937, the College has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and is located two miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
